I’m giving the Flickr iOS app another try. It could do with an updated design but the Photos sync seems to be working a lot faster than the last time I tried it. My whole library is backed up now and I just need to go through every upload and delete all the memes and rubbish that I’ve accumulated over the last few years.

I’ve started another Flickr account now that it seems to be in better hands. The only thing is I had to open another Yahoo account to get the Pro discount in time. I’m looking forward to seeing what the new account system is like and how easy it will be to change over.

I downloaded the Flickr photos that weren’t already in Photos and deleted my Yahoo account last night. It’s something I should have done a while ago in light of the big data breaches. The following statement didn’t inspire confidence either.

Flickr and Yahoo are now part of “Oath” and are members of the Verizon family of companies. Beginning 15 September 2017, we plan to share some user information within our new family

I didn’t use the email address at all and probably didn’t log into it more than five times in over ten years.

Apple iCloud Photo Library is working well for me now and I’m backing up in Dropbox. I wont miss any community aspects because I didn’t really use them.
