I see my web sites now as places where I post all the little things that I would be giving the big social media sites for free. These little things might not be important enough for other folk but they mean things to me or I wouldn’t be posting them in the first place. They are things I want to remember and record. It’s the great thing about personal web sites. They can be whatever you want them to be.

“He played this beautiful guitar work on it. We met up at the Hall of Fame and everything. I kept looking at him, saying ‘We’re gonna sing together. We’re going to work together again.’”

I used to go to a lot of concerts but the older I’ve got the the less I’ve been inclined to make the effort. There are certain favourite bands that I’ll try not to miss but the move to giant edge of city centre event “campuses” makes everything a hassle. I feel uncomfortable in big venues like The Hydro and I’m more inclined to go to a gig if it’s taking place in Glasgow city centre.
There seems to be a renaissance for small venues in Glasgow and I should make the effort to support smaller bands that need it.
My little WD My Passport Ultra external hard drive is full. I use it to back up all my iMac’s files and applications and Time Machine is starting to delete old backups. How many backups do I need to keep? The oldest is from July 2018.
The only thing I would be devastated about losing would be photos and they’re backed up in three different places now.
I have a newer, bigger capacity, version of the My Passport portable drive waiting to be used. It’s a new design and the all-red plastic shell is ugly compared to the old shiny Ultra.
It’s a new year and I’m starting a new shift pattern at work later in the month. The current one has messed up my sleeping patterns. The new one should be a lot better and, despite working one extra day, I’m actually looking forward to starting.
