Decided to nuke my site and restore to a new Wordpress installation and database.

Just spent the last couple of hours cleaning up a hack in my Wordpress installation. Someone had managed to inject a pile of crap into my file system. I’ve never had this sort of thing happen before. Made some security changes to hopefully stop it happening again.

Rolled back to iOS 10 on my phone after trying the 11 public beta. It was NOT easy this time.

I understand the arguments against ad-blockers but if you have those “15 shocking celebrity pictures” type ads on your site then I have little sympathy. It’s insulting to readers and I will block.

I’ve managed to get OwnYourGram and OwnYour Swarm working on my site today. Goodbye to extra plugins and IFTTT recipes.

There’s a load of spam getting through to my mac/icloud email address today. It seems like someone has turned off the filters.

I spent some time today learning a bit about Hugo after several mentions here. I managed to download and install it on my mac all via the terminal which was quite satisfying.

Switched themes temporarily to Sempress and it doesn’t send the gravitar image to Twitter with Bridgy. It must be some code in the Independent Publisher theme but I wouldn’t know where to start looking.

A question for anyone who uses the Bridgy plugin for Wordpress. How do you stop it sending the website icon/image as part of tweets?
